The Panzerkampfwagen I was a German light tank produced between 1934–1940. In total, over 2100 machines were produced. It was originally intended to be a training machine only, but problems with the development of medium tanks of the Panzer III type led to it eventually being used in combat, notably in the Spanish Civil War and the invasion of Poland in September 1939. The tank was crewed by 2 men and it was armed with two 7.92 mm machine guns.
